Post-graduate education in dermatopathology was established at Roger Williams Medical Center in 1989 by Dr. Hendrik Bogaars. Since its inception, the fellowship program has graduated more than 15 board-certified dermatopathologists who practice in academic and/or private practice settings.
Advanced fellowship training is available to board eligible or board-certified pathologists and dermatologists. Comprehensive education of pathologic findings of neoplastic and inflammatory conditions of the skin is provided. One-on-one faculty to fellow instruction, along with active participation in weekly conferences, constitutes the mainstay of our program.
The training program is one year in duration and is accredited by Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME).
Our dermatopathology faculty includes program director Catherine Breen, MD, MPH.
